Portable Delta-T kit combining the WET-2 sensor with the HH2 Moisture Meter. In less than 5 seconds it reads water content, pore water conductivity (ECp) and temperature in soils and substrates, with calibrations for soils, coir, peat mixes and mineral wool, in a carrying case.
The WET Sensor type WET-2 measures three vital soil properties: Water content, Electrical conductivity (EC) and Temperature. For portable work it is used with the HH2 Moisture Meter and is normally supplied as the complete WET-2-KIT. The sensor is easily inserted into substrates, composts and most soils, so growers and researchers can make rapid checks and optimise the uniformity of growing conditions. Each reading takes less than 5 seconds.
The WET Sensor calculates pore water conductivity (ECp) – the EC of the water available to plant roots. The calculation is valid in most soils and is particularly accurate in mineral wool and other artificial substrates. The sensor is particularly useful in horticulture for monitoring and responding to variations when applying fertigation, controlled release fertiliser (CRF) or organic treatments.
The HH2 Moisture Meter displays the three outputs of the WET Sensor and stores them until they are downloaded to a PC. Pore water and/or bulk conductivity and the permittivity can be displayed, with user-selectable temperature compensation, and user-defined custom calibrations can be entered for soils and other substrates. Delta-T Devices is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer.
