The Lutron AM-4222 combines a vane anemometer and a temperature meter in one compact handheld instrument. It measures air velocity from 0.4 to 30.0 m/s with a resolution of 0.1 m/s and temperature from 0 to 50 °C with a resolution of 0.1 °C, and its two-line LCD shows both values at the same time.

Air velocity can be read in m/s, km/h, ft/min, mph or knots, and temperature in °C or °F. The vane probe uses a low-friction ball bearing design that is accurate at both high and low velocities, while a thermistor senses the temperature. A microprocessor circuit provides data hold, recording of maximum and minimum readings with recall, and auto power off.

The meter runs on four 1.5 V AAA (UM4) batteries, weighs 182 g and is enclosed in a strong, compact ABS-plastic housing.
