These test strips are a practical tool for qualitative and semi-quantitative rapid testing of multiple water-quality parameters in aqueous solutions. Specific chemical reactions occur between the reagents on the pads and the target analytes in the sample, and the result is read from the visible colour change of each pad.

Each strip carries 8 reaction pads of 5 mm × 5 mm on a 130 mm substrate. The strip is built from a reaction layer containing the analyte-sensitive reagents, an immobilization layer that supports the reagents and prevents peeling-off, and a substrate that acts as the hand-hold section so the fingers never touch the sample.

Usage is simple: immerse the strip for 2 seconds, hold it level without shaking, read all parameters at 15 seconds and nitrate and nitrite at 60 seconds, then test the ammonia pad by dipping it up and down 30 times and reading immediately.
