The Wintact WT100A is a handheld, microprocessor-controlled ultrasonic thickness gauge that measures the thickness and the sound velocity of different materials quickly, accurately and without damaging them. Its measuring range is 1.00 to 225.0 mm with the 5Md10 probe at an operating frequency of 5 MHz, and the measurement error is ±(0.5%H+0.05) mm. On steel pipes it measures down to Φ20x3mm.
The gauge is suited to measuring materials and parts in industrial production and to monitoring pipelines and pressure vessels of production equipment and the degree of corrosion of parts in service. It is also widely used in manufacturing, metal processing, commodity inspection and other testing fields. Any material that transmits ultrasonic waves at a constant speed and returns a distinguishable echo from its back surface can be measured.
The sound speed can be adjusted from 1000 to 9999 m/s to match the material under test. The instrument stores 500 data records and is powered by 3 Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of 1.2V, charged through USB (5V 1A).
