Elmetron MG-405 Waterproof Precise Coating Thickness Gauge

The Elmetron MG-405 is designed for precise measurement of varnish coating thickness, plastic insulating layers and galvanic layers on steel, aluminium, brass or copper. It can also be used for precise car body control: determining the thickness of the varnish (lacquer) and finding repaired places.

The gauge works in two ways – a non-magnetic coating on a magnetic surface, and an insulating coating on a conducting surface – using a single probe that detects the surface type automatically. Results are shown in µm or mils over a range of 0 to 1999 µm (0 to 80 mils) on a large backlit LCD with brightness control.

High accuracy is ensured by precise calibration and by storing the probe characteristics in the instrument's memory. The IP-66 waterproof housing, the built-in clock and calendar, the internal memory for up to 4000 results and the micro USB connection to a PC make it suitable for documented inspection work.
