The Benetech GT230 is a portable coating thickness gauge with a high-definition colour screen. It quickly, non-destructively and accurately measures the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metal substrates and of non-metallic coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates, and it automatically identifies which of the two substrate types (Fe / nFe) it is placed on.

The measuring range is 0 ~ 1300 µm (51 mil) with a resolution of 0.1 µm below 100 µm and 1 µm from 100 µm upwards. Readings can be taken one at a time or continuously, shown in µm, in mil or in both units together, and checked against user-set high and low limits: a value outside the limits turns red on the screen.

The gauge is widely used in manufacturing, the metal processing industry, the chemical industry, commodity inspection and other testing areas. It is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery charged through its USB charging interface; the power adapter (DC 5V/1A, an ordinary mobile phone charger) is not shipped with the instrument.
