The YIERYI YY-1000 is a handheld digital soil tester that measures three key parameters with a single probe: soil electrical conductivity (EC) from 0.01 to 20.00 mS/cm, soil moisture from 0.01 to 99.9 % using PDR technology, and soil or ambient air temperature from -30 to 80 °C (-22 to 176 °F).
Soil EC is an essential parameter in precision agriculture, reflecting soil quality and nutrient availability, while the moisture reading shows at any time whether plants are getting enough water. The probe measures directly in the root zone of soil and other growing substrates, which makes the meter well suited to greenhouses, paddy rice, vegetables, orchards, flowers, soil research and hydroponic nutrient solutions.
The large backlit display shows EC and temperature together. The HOLD/TEMP key locks the reading (an H appears on the screen) or, with a long press, switches between °C and °F; the MODE/CAL key changes the function or, with a long press, starts the two-point EC calibration. Soil moisture is calibrated at the factory and needs no user calibration. For correct readings, insert the probe fully into the soil, avoid stones and hard ground, and clean and dry the electrode after use. The meter runs on three 1.5 V button batteries (not included).
