The Lutron PH-221E is a portable, microprocessor-based pH meter that measures from 0 to 14 pH with a resolution of 0.01 pH and an accuracy of ± (0.02 pH + 2 d) on a calibrated meter. Its mV function, covering ± 1999 mV, accepts an ORP electrode. The separate electrode connects through a BNC socket, which accepts most kinds of pH electrode and makes the meter convenient for general-purpose and remote measurement. This item is supplied with the PE-03 pH electrode.

Temperature compensation for the pH measurement can be set manually from 0 to 100 °C with the front-panel push buttons, or performed automatically (ATC) from 0 to 65 °C with the optional TP-07 temperature probe. Auto calibration at pH 7, pH 4 and pH 10 gives a 3-point calibration for the best linearity and accuracy; other calibration points near these values are also available.

The dual-function LCD shows two readings at once, and the meter records maximum and minimum values, freezes the reading with data hold and stores up to 1,600 readings in its manual and auto data logger. It runs on a 006P DC 9V battery in a heavy-duty, compact housing weighing 200 g.
