Delta-T WinDIAS 3 Entry Level (WD-E3) Leaf Image Analysis System

WinDIAS 3 from Delta-T Devices is an image analysis system for leaves. It measures leaf area and leaf features and offers specialised analysis for applications that need high colour discrimination, such as plant pathology and phenotyping. The Entry Level System, type WD-E3, consists of the WinDIAS software and a flatbed scanner; it enables the full set of analysis features and can be used at very high resolution up to A4 size.

Three thresholds can be set, each based on a user-defined range of colours picked by a simple point and click on the image: the primary threshold for the main zones of interest, e.g. healthy areas, and the secondary and tertiary thresholds for other zones, e.g. diseased areas. The selected areas appear immediately as overlays on the image, and WinDIAS then measures area, perimeter, length, width, circularity, elongation and shape factor, and counts objects or disease spots within these regions.

The scanner-based Entry Level System is the slowest of the three WinDIAS systems: it may take about 1 minute to scan and analyse each image at higher resolutions, with a typical throughput of about 50 leaves per hour depending on leaf size. All results and images are easily exchanged with other Windows applications.
