The Elmetron MG-105 is a pocket-size coating thickness gauge of high accuracy, designed for field work. Depending on the measuring head chosen, it measures layers of lacquer, varnish, foil, plastic and similar coatings: the GG-105 head works on ferromagnetic surfaces such as steel, while the GG-105a head works on both ferromagnetic (steel) and non-ferromagnetic (aluminium) surfaces.

The MG-105 may also be used for car body control: determining the thickness of the varnish (lacquer) and finding repaired places. It measures from 0 to 1200 μm with a resolution of 1 μm, and its waterproof housing allows work even during rain.

The meter is not suitable for continuous work during production processes.
