J-QUANT Total Chlorine 200 Test Strips, 5 m Reel

J-QUANT Total Chlorine test strips quickly and economically measure the level of total chlorine in liquid. They give consistent results with an easy-to-use method and no wait time after sampling. The Total Chlorine 200 version is graduated 0 - 10 - 25 - 50 - 100 - 200 mg/L Cl₂ and is supplied as a 5 m reel (product code 020.5).

Chlorine is used in swimming pools, spas, drinking water, industrial boiling and cooling water and wastewater, and electroplaters use it to detoxify cyanide waste; too much chlorine, however, can be hazardous. Chlorine can be free (available to disinfect) or bound, as chloramines; total chlorine is both types combined. The strips show whether the correct amount of disinfection has occurred to destroy harmful microorganisms, remove impurities and prevent the growth of algae.

In some countries there is a legal obligation to have test strips or kits available to check the level of a disinfectant when the manufacturer gives dilution instructions. The reel can be used in educational and industrial sectors, and for personal use depending on the solution being tested. For measuring low levels of chlorine in swimming pools, the manufacturer recommends its Swimming Pool test strips (3 in 1 or 5 in 1) instead.
