The Benetech GT1355 is designed to meet the measurement needs of noise engineers, noise quality control and health prevention in a wide range of environments, including factories, offices, road traffic, homes and other noise measurement applications. It is designed according to IEC PUB 651 TYPE2 and ANSI S1.4 TYPE2.

The meter covers 30–130 dB(A) and 35–130 dB(C) with 0.1 dB resolution and ±1.5 dB accuracy (reference 94 dB @ 1 kHz). A 1/2-inch polarization capacitance microphone, selectable A/C frequency weighting (A for general sound level measurements, C for checking the low-frequency content of sounds) and FAST/SLOW time weighting cover everyday noise surveys.

Readings can be logged in the internal memory (up to 31,000 records, record interval 1 to 99 s) and downloaded over the USB Type-C port to the SoundLab PC software, which also provides real-time measurement, graph analysis and printing. The built-in 3.7 V 1000 mAh lithium battery is charged through the same port.
