The Delta-T GP1 is a compact, weatherproof, research-grade data logger with 7 channels: 2 differential voltage, 2 temperature, 2 pulse counters and 1 WET Sensor input, plus a relay output. It stores over 600,000 readings in an IP67 case, runs on a 9 V battery and comes with free DeltaLINK software.
The GP1 from Delta-T Devices is a compact, weatherproof, research-grade data logger. Connected to one or two ThetaProbe (ML3) or SM150T soil moisture sensors, it provides simple, high-accuracy recording of soil moisture content together with rainfall and temperature. Its 7 channels record 2 differential analogue voltages, 2 temperatures, 2 pulse counters and 1 Delta-T WET Sensor, while a versatile relay output can be driven by multiple sensor thresholds to raise alarms, control experimental conditions or control irrigation.
The fully sealed IP67 enclosure (140 x 105 x 45 mm) needs no secondary enclosure for outdoor use, and its small size allows it to be installed in confined spaces or hidden away where security is a concern. The internal 9 V PP3 (6LR61) alkaline battery typically lasts a full year when taking hourly readings; alternatively the logger can be powered from an 11 to 24 V DC external source or from a solar panel. Over 600,000 readings (typical) are held in 1 MB of non-volatile flash memory, so data remain safe even if the battery runs flat.
The free DeltaLINK software supplied with the GP1 provides full configuration, sensor checking with real-time graphing, and data collection; data can be graphed in DeltaLINK or imported into Excel. Data are collected by laptop via RS232 or USB, or remotely through cellular modem options, and with a modem gateway and data package the GP1 can upload to the DeltaLINK-Cloud online platform for remote viewing, dashboards and data sharing. Up to 10 GP1 loggers can be networked over M8 cabling to share power and communications, and GP2 loggers can join such a network via an adapter cable.
