The TSTCHECK disinfectant H2O2 test strips made by Jilin Test Bio-Electron Co., Ltd. detect residual peroxide in drinking water, swimming pools and hot tubs where hydrogen peroxide is used as a disinfectant. The version supplied by Easy Test covers 0-100 mg/L.
Each strip carries a reagent-impregnated pad on a water-resistant backing. When the strip is dipped into the sample, hydrogen peroxide oxidises the reagent and the pad changes colour; the intensity of the colour follows the H2O2 concentration and is read against the colour-comparison chart supplied with the strips.
No instrument, no reagent preparation and no laboratory training are needed, so the strips suit routine and on-site checks in water treatment plants, aquaculture ponds and tanks, food and beverage plants and pharmaceutical facilities. Where high precision is critical, or at very low or very high concentrations, the manufacturer notes that a test kit may be more appropriate.
