The Kozo Toku-Usu Tengujo White No.623 050/R1 is a Japanese washi tissue regarded as one of the thinnest and lightest archival conservation tissues. At just 3.5 gsm, its open, translucent web of long-strand mulberry (kozo) fibres lets conservators and archivists patch, mend and reinforce fragile manuscript leaves, old drawings and deteriorating scripts without adding bulk or reducing the legibility of the original text.

The tissue is supplied as a continuous 100 cm x 61 m roll, wide enough for large maps, scrolls and panoramic prints without overlapping seams. It is 100% acid-free and unbuffered pH neutral, made without chemical additives to protect documents against ageing, yellowing and brittleness.

Handling note: because the tissue is so light, do not pull the dry sheet under heavy lateral tension, and always work on a supporting carrier film or board when laying it with wet adhesive.
