The Linshang LS255 is a handheld digital Webster hardness tester for aluminium alloy, brass, copper and mild steel. Using eddy current induction it measures 0-20 HWA with 0.1 HWA resolution and ±0.5 HWA accuracy, converts to HRE, HRF, HRB, HV and HB, and has an OLED display and Bluetooth.
The LS255 from Shenzhen Linshang Technology is a handheld Webster hardness tester for aluminium alloy, brass, copper, mild steel and other metal materials. It uses eddy current induction measurement technology for good repeatability and measurement accuracy, and shows the result on a 128 × 64 dot-matrix OLED screen on top of the instrument.
Readings are taken in Webster hardness (HWA) and can be switched on the instrument to Rockwell HRE, HRF and HRB, Vickers (HV) and Brinell (HB), with no need for manual conversion tables. The tester accepts material 0.6 to 8 mm thick with an inner diameter greater than 10 mm: the part is placed in the test groove and the handle is pressed firmly to the bottom in one stroke until a beep confirms the reading. Indentations should be at least 6 mm apart and at least 5 mm from the edge; accuracy is reduced below 4 HWA or above 17 HWA.
A reference calibration compensates for differences in each user's pressing force, and the user can calibrate the instrument against a standard hardness block. Results can be sent over Bluetooth to the manufacturer's mobile app. The gauge carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty.
