The MSA ALTAIR 4XR is a rugged multigas detector that monitors combustible gases (LEL), O2, CO and H2S with rapid-response XCell sensors. It is IP68 rated, drop-tested to MIL-STD-810G, runs 24 hours on a rechargeable Li-polymer battery and logs more than 50 hours of data.
The MSA ALTAIR 4XR is a rugged, reliable multigas detector that monitors up to 4 gases at the same time. In this configuration it measures combustible gases (0-100 % LEL), oxygen (0-30 %), carbon monoxide (0-1999 ppm) and hydrogen sulfide (0-200 ppm) using MSA XCell rapid-response sensors, which MSA states are 2X faster than the industry average.
The detector is built to work wherever you work: it carries a certified IP68 rating (waterproof to 2 m for 1 hour), MIL-STD-810G drop protection (25 drops from 1.2 m), survives a 7.5 m drop onto concrete and operates from -40 °C to +60 °C. The rechargeable Li-polymer battery gives a 24-hour run-time and recharges in less than 4 hours.
Bump tests and calibrations need half the time and half the test gas, and the bump status is visible at a glance on the instrument. The datalog holds more than 50 hours of data and more than 500 events, and the detector is compatible with the MSA GALAXY GX2 Automated Test System and with MSA fleet management.
