MSA ALTAIR 2X Single-Gas Detector – Ammonia (NH3)

The MSA ALTAIR 2X is a portable personal gas detector built around MSA XCell sensor technology. This version is the single-gas ammonia (NH3) detector, supplied with a low alarm at 25 ppm and a high alarm at 50 ppm.

MSA places the sensor's controlling electronics inside the sensor itself using its proprietary application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design, which gives XCell sensors superior stability, accuracy and sensor life; according to MSA, XCell sensors have a typical life of more than four years. Fast sensor response and recovery reduce the gas consumed in calibration and bump tests.

The detector is made for demanding work sites: an IP67 dust-tight and water-tight design, a rugged polycarbonate housing with rubberized armor that passes a 25-foot drop test, intrinsically safe construction and one-button operation that works with a gloved hand. Bump and calibration records, peak readings, event logs and data logs are stored in the instrument and can be downloaded with the MSA Galaxy GX2 test stand and MSA Link Pro software.
