Lutron RT-616 3 Phase Rotation Tester

The Lutron RT-616 is a 3 phase rotation tester with an LCD display. The rotation test is electronic, not mechanical, for high reliability, and is built around a custom one-chip microprocessor LSI circuit.

The three inputs are marked L1/R, L2/S and L3/T. With the three lines connected, the display shows the arrow R - CORRECT for clockwise rotation or the arrow L - FALSE for counter clockwise rotation. If a line is not connected, the display shows which one is missing: L1 MISSING, L2 MISSING, L3 MISSING or L1L2L3 MISSING.

The tester accepts a signal input voltage from 100V AC up to 660V AC maximum (3 min. limit for over 500V AC) at 45 to 70 Hz, and is powered by a DC 9V battery.
