Benetech GM8905 Digital Laser Tachometer

The Benetech GM8905 is a handheld laser tachometer for measuring the rotational speed of motors, shafts, fans and other rotating parts. The laser beam is aimed at a reflection point on the rotating part from a distance of 50 to 500 mm, and the speed is shown in rpm on a large 5-digit LCD with 18 mm high digits and backlight.

The measuring range covers 2.5 to 99999 rpm, with 0.1 rpm resolution from 2.5 to 999.9 rpm and 1 rpm resolution from 1000 to 99999 rpm. The instrument uses a quartz-crystal time base, samples once per second and holds the maximum, minimum, average and last measured values.

Powered by two 1.5 V AAA batteries, it shows a low-battery indication and switches itself off after 60 seconds without any key press. The shell is made of light, solid ABS plastic; the instrument measures 55.7 × 29.9 × 127 mm and weighs 106 g. It is supplied with 3 silver reflective tape strips (200 mm × 12 mm) for marking the rotating part.
