The Optris CTlaser 3M is a two-part infrared thermometer working at 2.3 µm for metals and ceramics. Five versions cover 50 to 1800 °C, with double laser aiming, 1 ms exposure time, system accuracy ±(0.3 % of reading + 2 °C) and analog and optional digital outputs.
The Optris CTlaser 3M is a non-contact infrared thermometer for accurate temperature measurement of metals, secondary metal processing and ceramic materials. It consists of a compact sensing head and a separate electronics box with display and programming keys, connected by a 3 m standard cable (8 m and 15 m available).
Its short measuring wavelength of 2.3 µm reduces the error of temperature readings on surfaces with low or unknown emissivity. The double laser aiming marks the real spot location at any distance. Five versions cover the temperature range: 3ML (50 to 400 °C), 3MH (100 to 600 °C), 3MH1 (150 to 1000 °C), 3MH2 (200 to 1500 °C) and 3MH3 (250 to 1800 °C). The 3ML has an optical resolution of 60:1 and the 3MH 100:1, each with selectable focus (SF, CF1, CF2, CF3 and CF4 optics).
System accuracy is ± (0.3 % of reading + 2 °C) with 0.1 K digital resolution and an exposure time of 1 ms. The instrument has an environmental rating of IP 65 (NEMA-4) and is usable up to 85 °C ambient temperature without cooling. Outputs include 0/4 – 20 mA, 0 – 5/10 V and thermocouple J, K, with optional USB, RS232, RS485, CAN, Profibus DP or Ethernet interfaces.
