The ThermoPro TP450 is a handheld infrared thermometer that measures the surface temperature of objects from a distance, without any direct contact. It covers -50 to 550 °C (-58 to 1022 °F) with ±1.5% accuracy and 0.1 °C / 0.1 °F resolution, so hot, hazardous or inaccessible surfaces can be checked safely, from cooking surfaces and food to HVAC systems and automotive parts.

Two laser pointers mark the target while the trigger is held; releasing the trigger locks the last reading on the upper display, while the lower display shows the MAX, MIN or AVG value of the latest measurement. With a 16:1 distance-to-spot ratio the measured spot is about 1/16 of the distance: at the recommended 36 cm the spot is 2.26 cm in diameter.

Emissivity is adjustable from 0.10 to 1.00 (default 0.95) to suit different materials, and the manual includes a reference emissivity table. The thermometer measures surface temperature only, cannot measure objects behind glass and is not intended for body temperature measurement.
