The LANDTEK GS-100D2 is a handheld digital gaussmeter (tesla meter) for measuring the magnetic induction intensity of DC (static) magnetic fields, AC (dynamic) magnetic fields and other magnetic fields. It covers 0 to 2000 mT in two switchable ranges, 200 mT and 2000 mT, with a resolution of 0.01 mT on the 200 mT range and 0.1 mT on the 2000 mT range, and works with AC fields from 10 Hz to 200 Hz.
The probe is a Hall sensor. The circuit uses a low-drift amplifier and a highly stable power supply, is controlled by a single-chip microcomputer and shows the reading on a 4½-digit LCD. Readings can be held at their peak value, displayed in mT or Gs, and DC polarity is indicated as N (positive) or S (negative). Accuracy is 5 % for DC and 5 % for AC (10–200 Hz), measured in a uniform magnetic field.
Typical uses include the surface field of permanent magnets, fields inside magnetic circuits, and the fields of iron removers, magnetic separators, magnetic chucks, electromagnets and demagnetizers, as well as ambient and residual magnetic fields. Note: the instrument does not measure frequency; the 10–200 Hz figure is the frequency band in which it measures AC fields.
