The TFA Dostmann 30.1056 is an extremely robust digital thermometer for measuring the temperature of solid foods such as frozen food. Its T-shaped body stays firmly in the hand, and the 120 mm corkscrew tip is simply screwed into the product being checked. The sensor sits in the tip of the probe, which should be inserted at least 2.5 cm deep; the reading appears on the display within a very short time.

The instrument covers -50 to +150 °C with 0.1 °C resolution. Accuracy is ±1 °C between -20 and 150 °C and ±2 °C over the rest of the range. The MAX/MIN function recalls the lowest and highest temperature since the last reset, and the thermometer switches off automatically after about 1 hour.

Compliant with HACCP and EN 13485 (accuracy class 1, suitability S and T for storage and transport), it is well suited to professional use in industry, trade, foodservice and laboratories: checking frozen food before preparation, monitoring supermarket freezer counters, stock checks and incoming-goods inspection. EN 13485 calls for regular checking and calibration of the instrument according to EN 13486, recommended yearly.
